  1. My name is Luis Reyes. I studied in this program last year in this center, UNEV, and I’d like to let you know about my experience in the program. At first, I was a little bit nervous because I hadn’t studied English before, in fact I was pretty bad at it, and I thought it would be the most difficult thing on earth for me to learn. However, it turned out to be the most fantastic and pleasant experience of my life. The teachers were incredibly good, and the whole program was amazing! Before that I never thought that learning could be so fun.
I admit that for me it has been the best experience ever! Everyone was willing to help us learn.
At the end, I learned so much that I myself was astonished, but I have to say that all my classmates and I studied very hard. We always did our homework and tried to do our best because we knew it was our responsibility to do so. As a result of all of that a few classmates and I won the scholarship to go to Utah State University in the US, to continue our learning process.
I’d like to thank all the teachers that I had last year: Isaac, Fausto, Rubén, Christian, and the lab teacher. And a special thanks to Bethsaida and Denisse.

  2. Hi, my name is Denisse Pérez, I´m a student of the Program from last year here in UNEV. I would like to say that being in the English Immersion Program was one of the best experiences that I had in my life last year. You´re going to make a lot of friends and some of them will be forever. I know that at first it´s a little bit difficult, but at the end it all be worth.

At the beginning I was so afraid of speaking in public because I didn´t want other people to laugh at me, but then I put all my fears apart. I always remembered one thing that my first teacher Isaac Morillo told us: ´´If you want to learn English you have to let yourself go´´. It means that you can´t be afraid of speaking, if you don´t understand something you have to raise your hand and ask your teacher again until you´re clear. The most important thing is to Never Give Up on your dream that is learning English. And that´s what I did, I started talking and asking my teachers and Bethsaida that always were willing to help us. I used to read articles and look for the meaning of the words that I didn´t understand and also listened to music aloud so I can practice my pronunciation.

Don´t waste your time and try to give a 100 % every day in every class, you´re not going to regret it. All of you have a great opportunity in this program, so make it count. Because all the effort that we put during the program last year , a few friends and I won a scholarship to go to Utah State University in USA this year, to continuing improving our English knowledge, next year you can be part of it too.
